Healthy and Unhealthy Habits Sorting Cards for Kids

Printable healthy and unhealthy habits sorting cards for children, showing illustrated examples such as eating fruit, drinking water, brushing teeth, skipping breakfast and eating sweets.

Sorting everyday routines into healthy and unhealthy choices can help children talk about the small habits that shape their wellbeing. These visual cards give children a clear, practical way to discuss food, hygiene, sleep, movement, safety and emotional coping in lessons, home conversations or support sessions.

Children are supported to recognise positive self-care routines and less helpful choices through simple illustrated habit cards. The pack is presented as 48 printable sorting cards for children, with dashed borders for cutting out and using as a hands-on healthy habits activity.

The healthy habit cards shown include eating fruit and vegetables, drinking water, eating breakfast, choosing a healthy snack, brushing teeth twice a day, washing hands before eating and after using the toilet, having a bath or shower, keeping nails clean and getting enough sleep.

Other positive routines cover going to bed at bedtime, resting when tired, playing outside, running and active games, wearing a bike or scooter helmet, using sunscreen, covering coughs and sneezes, talking to someone when worried, taking deep breaths, limiting screen time, visiting the dentist, preparing healthy food and eating meals with family.

The unhealthy habit cards include eating lots of sweets, crisps and junk food, drinking fizzy drinks instead of water, skipping breakfast, eating too many sugary snacks, not brushing teeth and not washing hands before eating or after the toilet. Parents, primary teachers, school nurses, family support workers and child therapists could use the cards for sorting, discussion prompts, PSHE activities, health education, visual choices or small group work with younger children.
