My Future And Dreams Activity For Children And Teens

Printable My Future and Dreams activity sheet with sections for growth, learning reflection, future goals and things a child is proud of.

Parents, carers, teachers, school counsellors and social workers can use this activity with children and teens who are thinking about their hopes, strengths and next steps. The layout is friendly and accessible, with space for young people to complete short written prompts rather than needing to produce long answers.

The main section, “I can grow by…”, gives eight prompts covering learning, improving at something, building skills, being a good person, looking after health, helping others, exploring new experiences and believing in oneself. These prompts make it useful for goal-setting work, confidence building, mentoring sessions, PSHE activities, pastoral support or one-to-one direct work.

A reflection area asks young people to name an important lesson they have learned, consider how they will use that learning in their life and identify something they still want to learn more about. These questions can help children and teenagers connect past learning with future choices in a practical, manageable way.

The lower part of the activity includes a “Goals for my future” section with numbered lines, a prompt asking for the first step they will take, and an “I am proud of…” box for recording achievements or personal qualities. It can support conversations about motivation, self-esteem, resilience, aspirations and realistic action planning.

The printable page works well at home, in schools, youth work, counselling, social work visits or therapeutic sessions with kids and teenagers. The design includes simple illustrations and encouraging wording, ending with the affirmation “I have dreams. I take action. I create my future!” Created by Edita Stiborova.
