Space Invaders Personal Boundaries Scenario Cards For Kids

Cover of Space Invaders Personal Boundaries scenario cards for kids, showing cartoon astronauts in space with the title and free download text.

Use the cards in one-to-one sessions, small group work, classroom circle time, family support visits or at home to prompt children to think about everyday boundary situations. Each card presents a child-friendly scenario and ends with a question, helping kids practise what they could say or do before touching, borrowing, hugging or taking something that belongs to someone else.

The visible cards include Helen, who likes giving hugs but forgets to ask first; Ethan, who wants to try his friends’ lunch without permission; and Betty, who plays with friends’ toys before asking. The format is simple and accessible, with a bold topic title, a named character, a space-themed illustration and a practical discussion prompt.

The full pack is presented as 12 scenario cards for children, designed to support learning about personal space, consent, respectful touch, sharing, belongings and asking before acting. Rather than giving children a lecture, the cards invite them to problem-solve, role-play polite phrases, recognise other people’s choices and understand that a friend may say yes, no or not right now.

Primary school staff, social workers, family support workers, counsellors, play therapists and parents or carers may find the cards useful with children who need concrete examples of boundaries in daily life. They are especially suited to younger children who respond well to visual prompts, social stories, PSHE activities, nurture work or direct conversations about safe and respectful behaviour.

The practical value is in the repeated question style: children can rehearse asking permission, accepting an answer, noticing body language and choosing respectful alternatives. The resource is credited to Edita Stiborova.
